Outside of work, I love to dabble in travel, photography, biking and bike maintenance, and 3D printing. I've worked as a bike mechanic and enjoy fixing up old bikes and running regular maintenance. I recently returned from a 1,000 mile bike tour of the Pacific Coast–a welcome challenge to my mental and physical stamina, not to mention the technical repairs involved! There's nothing more exciting to me than figuring out how parts come together to create a functional piece of equipment. The same can be said of 3D printing–it's fun to see my CAD designs transformed into something real like the carabiner shown below!
I am also an avid reader and lover of classic films. Friends call me “Alexabot” for the random tidbits I know, most of it acquired through something I’ve read.
